Yet another truly beautifully sunny day in London on 5th May 2018.

Feeling pretty good this week, as I have continued not to drink nor (generally, ahem!) eat between meals.
This was a far smaller park run than the first two. There were 73 runners. Lots of people knew each other very well. Everyone was was friendly and welcoming, and almost all were locals.
A word about the Park Run volunteers. They are epic people who give up their precious saturday mornings to keep a really worthwhile organisation going. A big big thank you to them all, and they have inspired me to volunteer in one in every ten runs.
The way I felt today reflected in my time, I improved to 29.10.
Here’s some useless information on Beckton Park:
Beckton park is in the London Borough of Newham (see below).

I love this park. It’s flat but quite interesting, and is is right next to Royal Albert dock and London City airport. Checkout the pictures below of the airport and the dock!

The Capital Ring runs through this park, on its way down to the Woolwich foot tunnel, before it makes its way to crystal palace and then back up to Highgate in the north of london. I’ve decided that one day, when i get fitter, i want to make a challenge out of the Capital Ring. The challenge is to run the whole of it in one day. It’s 78 miles long, and goes through some beautiful parks and urban areas. I think to do the challenge successfully i’ll need to do it on the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. This is because the parks close generally at dusk! Anyway, let’s concentrate on the Park runs first!
Next week is Burgess Park, in Camberwell! You know, I can’t wait. It’s become an addiction already!!
